The "Dance Addicts" Discussion List

This is a world-wide discussion list mainly for people who do more than one form of social dance.

It is a discussion list and ADVERTISING IS NOT ALLOWED

The major topics are:

* Similarities/differences between dance types
* Study of the Social/Psychological aspects of Social Dance
* Related  teaching, issues such as shoes, clothing, venues, music for dancing, etc.

Remember ADVERTISING IS NOT ALLOWED. Not even for amateur events or free stuff.

* People who do social dance
* Teachers of social dance, Musicians who play for it
* Academics

What is Social Dance?

In the context of this list, "social dance" is any dance form done primarily for the enjoyment of the participants. Examples are Scottish Country Dance, Salsa, Swedish polska, Lindy Hop, Disco, etc. It does NOT include "performance" dance for a passive audience such as ballet, morris dancing or other "ceremonial dance.
